About Us

From a young age, Jean, the founder of Jinny Cameron, was taught to sew by her mother, thus beginning her lifelong passion with fabrics.  Jean has lived in many different countries, including Kenya and Nepal.  This allowed her to experience different cultures where the explosion of colours and textures of textiles expanded her imagination even further.

Jean has worked with textiles in almost all areas, starting with basic dress making, and on to soft furnishings and upholstery, but none of them quite filled the desire to do something different with fabric.  So in 2014 Jinny Cameron was launched. Jean designs the silhouette mounts and then carefully selects the fabrics to back them.  This selection process can completely alter the feel of the finished piece. Some of her favourite fabrics are the bright vibrant colours of Liberty of London and the subtler tones of Mulberry Home and William Morris fabrics.

In 2016 Jean attended the Royal International Air Tattoo at Fairford as an exhibitor and was inundated with requests for a variety of different aircraft silhouettes, this has resulted in a much larger ‘Airforce’ from the historic old warbirds to current military jets. All British aircraft are backed with Royal Air Force Pilot tie fabric and the official Royal Air Force Tartan. Non British aircraft are back in various national flag fabric.

Each picture is handmade by Jean and numbered for its individuality.

We are always adding new designs, and are happy to take requests.
